Dr. Matthew L. Edwards is a general psychiatrist and clinical fellow in forensic psychiatry at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Edwards completed his psychiatry residency at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he received distinctions in the medical humanities and clinical teaching. His research has been supported by numerous fellowships and grants, and his work has received national recognition and awards. Dr. Edwards has published dozens of peer-reviewed articles, policy papers, encyclopedia articles, and book chapters, and his work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of the History of Medicine and Allied Sciences, and Psychiatric Services. Dr. Edwards received his bachelor’s degree in sociology, magna cum laude, from Princeton University and graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine, summa cum laude, with honors in medical humanities and the Dean’s Award for Research Excellence.
